This year, instead of buying each other presents, me and two friends decided to do a homemade Christmas. I didn't have any ideas at first but in the end I decided to made gingerbread men and a card with loads of photos on :)
Here are a few photos to show you what they turned out like...
I will admit the gingerbread looked a bit rubbish on its own, even though I spent hours making and decorating all the shapes! I decided to wrap them up and try and make them look pretty. Here's how I did it if you want to try: I used boxes for the bottom, I wrapped one of these in tissue and the other in wrapping paper. The inside is just a patterned paper napkin from Ikea. I put the gingerbread inside and put cling-film over the top then tied string round the whole box. Voila :)
Luckily my friends really liked them, I'm yet to receive their presents but I'll update you on what their ideas were :) Let me know what you think, a nice idea or stick to buying presents?
Hope you all had a magical Christmas,
Georgina xx

Hey House Brick
Oooh it's nearly Christmas, how exciting!? The house is decorated, I've bought all of my presents and the snow just keeps falling :)
My friends want to do our own 'Come Dine With Me' after January exams. I think it's a great idea but it'll probably never get followed through, still exciting though!
Hope you're all well,
Georgina xx
P.S. If you don't know what 'Come Dine With Me' is, you're missing out. Look it up it's brill :)

My Little Haunting
Drugs. Not illegal ones, prescribed ones. But still shit.
I am having every single side effect on the leaflet. I've woken up to blinding headaches, been sick, had a sore throat, dizziness and indigestion. I feel constantly tired but still can't sleep. They won't leave me alone. And of course my parents don't know so I also have to act like it's 'just a bug.'
I can cope for a few days but when you read that they may last 'for 2-3 weeks' it's pretty crap. I am not having this ruin my exams or my christmas for that matter. Right now I need my concentration. Eurgh.
I don't feel like me at all.

Bring It All Back
I need to admit this to someone. It's totally cringy and I will never say this sentence out loud, but...
I had an epiphany...listening to S-Club 7.
There, I wrote it. Now I can try and explain my epiphany in a few short sentences becasue I quite fancy getting some sleep :)
Basically I was listening to 'Bring it All Back' (on shuffle may I add!) and thought the lyrics were very fitting in my current situation of feeling shit and unmotivated and absolutely hopeless. Well they brightened up an otherwise shit day :)
The lyrics are below but the one that really stood out was "You only have to answer to yourself." That is so fucking true. Whatever you do, at the end of the day it's you who pays the price. Thank you S-Club, you not only provided my childhood with your cheesy music and upbeat dancing but you've also supplied me with some good life advice :)
Don't stop, never give up
Hold your head high and reach the top
Let the world see what you have got
Bring it all back to you
Hold on to what you try to be
Your individuality
When the world is on your shoulders
Just smile and let it go
If people try to put you down
Just walk on by don't turn around
You only have to answer to yourself
Don't you know it's true what they say
That life, it ain't easy
But your time's coming around
So don't you stop tryin'
Don't stop, never give up
Hold your head high and reach the top
Let the world see what you have got
Bring it all back to you
Dream of falling in love
Anything you've been thinking of
When the world seems to get too tough
Bring it all back to you
Try not to worry 'bout a thing
Enjoy the good times life can bring
Keep it all inside you
Gotta let the feeling show
Imagination is the key
'Cos you are you're own destiny
You never should be lonely
When time is on your side
Haha, I hope you enjoyed this :D

Just a Lonely Radio
Last night I went to see Johnny Flynn in Birmingham. I've listened to his music before and like it but never really properly got into it. But seeing him live made me appreciate his music so much more. It's so real and he's an amazing musician, not some fake commercialised crap (Think Mumford & Sons/Laura Marling). Don't get me wrong, I like chart music but it's good to hear some good simple songs, made for a love of music not just to make money. So this post may be a long one but it is to show you the wonder that is Johnny Flynn in the hope you'll like his music too :)
Here's one of his many great songs, this is the one I though best summed up his style of music but yeah, look at some others too :)
We didn't know who the support acts were going t be because it just said 'and other performances' but they were surprisingly good. The first, 'Melodica, Melody and Me' were similar to Johnny Flynn, folky indie music with a load of random instruments. I was surprised at how good they were! The second act was Basia Bulat who was annoying at first but she really connected with the audience and looked like she was having a great time, she did go a bit crazy though :P Here's the video for 'Ode to a Mountain' :)
That's the end of my long-winded, Johnny Flynn and others post :) I hope you enjoyed it, I'm not posting as much as I should just because of school and blah blah blah but I will try to keep you updated :)
Thanks for reading,

It's a little bit funny
Absolutely beautiful. This is my favourite song at the moment by far! I love the video too, really natural and christmassy. It's also on the John Lewis advert in case you were wondering where you recognised it from :)

Diamonds in the Dark
Tonight Bee came to my house just to hang around, watch X-factor and eat pizza and ice-cream! We actually had such a good chat. It's seems cheesy and generic but it really makes you realise who your friends are. We get on so well and can just chat for hours either about nothing in particular or about really serious things that we are genuinely worried about. And I know not everyone's perfect, I see flaws in all my friends, and myself of course, but people need to start accepting the bad with the good. Bee has had such a hard time with people before and still gets crap for the tiniest of things. People just fail to realise that life's to short to be a bitch, yeah we all have our moments but in general it doesn't hurt to be nice. My 'other friends' are being twats at the moment. We all joke around and sometimes the 'banter' goes a bit far but normally we know when to stop and recognise when people are upset. However that isn't the case this time. I'm just so glad I have people to turn to otherwise I really dunno what I'd do. It's real friends like Bee that we need and there's no reason to sit and take anyone's crap when all it does is get you down. I'm sure everyone can relate.

Remember, remember...
Hey guys, hope you've all enjoyed the weekend and you Brits had a good Bonfire night :) Just a little update of what I've be up to and a few photos...
I was really gutted when we came back from Norfolk- I thought I'd take some pictures of the amazing colours in our garden to show you, so I got my camera only to find half of the leaves had fallen and the other half were brown :( I found this one from a few weeks go though :)
On Saturday the family got together for my Grandad's 80th birthday. It was really nice to see everyone, even though the meal was a bit rushed. This was his cake (He's a rower as you might have guessed!)
We went for a little walk afterwards so I took some more photos :)
My aunt and uncle were supposed to stay over on Saturday but decided not too at the last minute so my parents went to our town's bonfire and fireworks on their own. They got some really good pictures though...
As for me, I watched them from a hill with my best friend Ffi (it's were all the stingy people who don't wanna stand in a crowd go :P) Afterwards we went to Chazzy's house where 8 of us sat around all evening watching 'Clueless' and 'Scary Movie' We had a good time but lost track of time so I didn't get home til 1.30 :/
Hope you like the photos, thanks for reading :)

Ivy and Gold
Thank you so much Karolina from Better than Barszcz for this award! Here goes...
1. Why do you blog?
Good question! I suppose it's another challenge for me, keeping it up to date and keeping you interested! I also like documenting parts of my life, I tend to blog about the general things I've been up to that I don't want to forget :) It's also lovely getting comments from you wonderful followers!
2. Name your three best memories:
- Christmas day when I was about 7, my mum told me to close my eyes, she went away and came back a few minutes later holding a rabbit. I called her Daisy and she really was the best surprise ever!
- When I was 10, lying in a friend's garden with 3 others at about 2 in the morning and seeing loads of shooting stars :)
- Year 8, we were the closest group of four friends, we used to laugh hysterically for an hour every single lunchtime, without fail. Those were the good days :)
3. Name 4 best fiction books you've read.
- The Time Traveller's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger
- P.S. I Love You by Cecelia Ahern
- A Little Princess by Frances Hodgson Burnett
- The Famous Five by Enid Blyton, I used to be obsessed with those books!
4. What are the 5 best movies ever made:
- The Holiday
- (500) Days of Summer
- Bridget Jones' Diary
- Marley and Me
- Mean Girls- classic
5. Name 5 things you can't live without:
- Friends and Family
- Tea
- Aspiration
- Music
- Sleep
6.If you could change your name, what would it be?
I used to really want to be called Daisy (hence the rabbit's name!) I love the name Bella (nothing to do with Twilight I assure you.) and I like old lady names like Maggie and Martha but I don't suit any of them...I was going to be called Harriet, that's nice :)
7. Tell us a unique and interesting fact about yourself.
I love having religious debates. Not officially but just with friends, however sad that is! I suppose I'm very set on my opinions and many of my friends are too, so we can discuss without anyone getting offended :)
8. What do you love most about yourself?
I challenge myself. I stick at things and I don't give up until I know there's nothing more to be done.
9. If you had a 'Freaky Friday' experience, who would you change places with?
Hmm that's tricky, probably some of my friends just to see their view on the world and whether their take on things would be the same as mine. And maybe my mum (not very imaginative but hey) Just to see what everything's like for her :)
10. What is the best thing about being a woman?
Being able to talk to people and be honest, without your friends thinking you're weird. Plus I think girls have more fun! Oh and wearing nice clothes and make up of course :)
I'm going to give this award to...

A Place In This World
Just thought I'd show you some pics from our recent family holiday to Norfolk :) (Family meaning me and my parents (minus my bro), my uncle Guy plus wife and three kids and my uncle Toby plus wife and two kids. So a pretty big bunch, 12 to be exact...) We rented a really nice big house which was cosy and countryside-ish...and right next to the sea :)
We didn't do much, it was mainly rainy walks and lazing around at home. I was lucky as I got to be a kid and spend time with my cousins and go to 'Bewilderwood' (a giant adventure play place in the woods) but I still got to spend time with the adults and have nice meals and drink posh wine :P Though one night I was used as a babysitter for all 5 kids!
Above Left- Me and my cousin Ted on a very cold and rainy walk. Right- Me and my mum by the seaside. Sorry the pictures are of myself, I didn't want to put pictures of all my cousins up for the usual reasons :)
Above- we went on a boat to see some seals, in the rain which was lovely! They were amazing, just lolling around on the beach, must've been freezing though even with all that blubber!
Above- Our pumpkin :) It wasn't quite Halloween but why not? My mum, two cousins and I carved it, please appreciate the incredible artwork ;)
On the last day we went crabbing which I've never actually done before. We caught loads of crabs! We let them go afterwards of course, mind you they did suffer a bit as they were kept in a bucket and held lots :/
The crabs did get a bit angry when we let them out onto the concrete...they all made it safely back to the sea eventually though, don't worry :)
Above- a collage picture in a little art gallery in the seaside town, I love it :)
Above- my dad and I just before we left, my mum managed to get the seagull in the background :P
So yes, overall it was a really nice holiday :) I love spending time with the family however cheesy it sounds and it was good to get away, but I now have all my homework to catch up on, bad times :/
Anyway, hope you're all well, thanks for reading :)

Random Animalistic Gathering
I thought I'd share my week with you, in a long, picture heavy post :) But don't let that put you off, these photos took me bloody ages to find and put together! Even if you don't read it all just look at the pretty pictures :) I tried to keep people's faces out of them just because they don't know they're on this blog, that's the reason for the cut-off eyes and backs of people's heads! There are a few faces but they're people I know would be happy to be on here :)
So anyway, this week was 'Rag Week' at my school. I've posted about it before but in case you didn't see- basically we dress up everyday to raise as much money as possible for charity :)
Monday- It was a Cowboys and Indians theme, the majority of people wore jeans and a checked shirt with the odd cowboy hat or headdress! I was boring and went for a shirt and plaited my hair :) Pictures below: top left- arm wrestling competition- basically we watched the boys being overly competitive and earning man-points! Other pictures are of the better costumes :)
Tuesday- Fictional Characters theme and the slave trade (labour trade to be PC). People volunteer to be a slave for the day and groups bid to buy them- one slave was bought for £90 which is pretty good! They then have to obey every command eg. carrying bags, dancing on tables, being painted on etc. Some of the things went way too far like having to lick mayonnaise off each other and other things I won't mention on here :/ There were some good costumes though, I was Daphne from Scooby Doo :)
Pics: Top- Simba & Pikachu, Slave Auction, Bottom- Crowds watching the slaves, Daphne, Minnie Mouse and a wolf!
Tuesday night- it was our first of four sixth form parties :) We had such a good time, we all got wristbands for the bar on entry as they just said 'Are you 18?' so obviously we lied and didn't get IDed haha! The theme was 'P'- I went as a Paratrooper (That's me in my black vest and army headband!) Other costumes were Pink Ladies, Pacman, Pirates, Policemen, Ping Pong Players, Pussycat Dolls etc. The outfits were great!
Wednesday was brilliant but horrible. Everyone was so hungover and in our case still drunk :/ But it was pyjama day so that made it a bit better! It was hilarious seeing a whole school of hungover people walking to school in dressing gowns and trackies! For obvious reasons there weren't many pictures but here are the few I could find...
Thursday- It was Beach Party day which was absolutely ridiculous for the middle of October! The general trend was wearing nice warm woolly clothes with a random flower garland on top, but a few people went all out with grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts...
Friday- The last day and a pretty good theme- Superheroes :) Most people had given up by now and just wore a mask or some pants over their jeans :P It was also the talent show which wasn't great, apart from the teacher's band!
Pics: Top- Superheroes, Batman, Bottom- People off 'That Mitchell and Webb Look' apparently and right- me and the girl who was supposed to be an incredible too- poor effort!
I won't bore you any longer with more ramblings, thanks so much for reading or just looking at the photos!

Somedays
I'm having such an FML day. Science all day- it makes me feel stupid, I just don't get half of the stuff we're supposed to get and teacher's frustration doesn't help. I also have a habit of embarrassing myself. In one lesson a guy asked me a question and I went bright red. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way shape or form remotely attracted to him, he's a creep! But just because people were staring at me I suddenly got really embarrassed and went beetroot. The harder I tried to be normal the more fucking red I went -.- I'm going red now just thinking about it, CRINGE. And now he probably thinks I fancy him eve though he's about 2ft tall.I went home for 5 mins after school, made a phone call that lasted 10mins longer than it should have, meaning I practically ran to work, realising half way I didn't have my swimming costume (I work in a swimming pool as a helper and have to wear shorts, a t-shirt and a swimming costume is, of course, an essential -.-) I didn't have time to go back so I rushed there and ran through the park to the pool desperate to be on time, of course they didn't appreciate my efforts. I was then told I could go 5mins early as they didn't need me, sounds nice but I felt so rejected, it pissed me off as I had to just get out te pool and leave in front of everyone. After all this I really wanted a lift home as I was so pissed off, but no, my parents don't answer their phones. I was on the verge of tears after such a shit day when I realised I was walking through the muddiest part of the park that was completely flooded. FML. I just burst int tears, shoved my iPod in and walked home.
