Bring It All Back

I need to admit this to someone. It's totally cringy and I will never say this sentence out loud, but...

I had an epiphany...listening to S-Club 7.

There, I wrote it. Now I can try and explain my epiphany in a few short sentences becasue I quite fancy getting some sleep :)

Basically I was listening to 'Bring it All Back' (on shuffle may I add!) and thought the lyrics were very fitting in my current situation of feeling shit and unmotivated and absolutely hopeless. Well they brightened up an otherwise shit day :)

The lyrics are below but the one that really stood out was "You only have to answer to yourself." That is so fucking true. Whatever you do, at the end of the day it's you who pays the price. Thank you S-Club, you not only provided my childhood with your cheesy music and upbeat dancing but you've also supplied me with some good life advice :)

Don't stop, never give up
Hold your head high and reach the top
Let the world see what you have got
Bring it all back to you

Hold on to what you try to be
Your individuality
When the world is on your shoulders
Just smile and let it go
If people try to put you down
Just walk on by don't turn around
You only have to answer to yourself

Don't you know it's true what they say
That life, it ain't easy
But your time's coming around
So don't you stop tryin'

Don't stop, never give up
Hold your head high and reach the top
Let the world see what you have got
Bring it all back to you
Dream of falling in love
Anything you've been thinking of
When the world seems to get too tough
Bring it all back to you

Try not to worry 'bout a thing
Enjoy the good times life can bring
Keep it all inside you
Gotta let the feeling show
Imagination is the key
'Cos you are you're own destiny
You never should be lonely
When time is on your side

Haha, I hope you enjoyed this :D

Just a Lonely Radio

Last night I went to see Johnny Flynn in Birmingham. I've listened to his music before and like it but never really properly got into it. But seeing him live made me appreciate his music so much more. It's so real and he's an amazing musician, not some fake commercialised crap (Think Mumford & Sons/Laura Marling). Don't get me wrong, I like chart music but it's good to hear some good simple songs, made for a love of music not just to make money. So this post may be a long one but it is to show you the wonder that is Johnny Flynn in the hope you'll like his music too :)

Here's one of his many great songs, this is the one I though best summed up his style of music but yeah, look at some others too :)

We didn't know who the support acts were going t be because it just said 'and other performances' but they were surprisingly good. The first, 'Melodica, Melody and Me' were similar to Johnny Flynn, folky indie music with a load of random instruments. I was surprised at how good they were! The second act was Basia Bulat who was annoying at first but she really connected with the audience and looked like she was having a great time, she did go a bit crazy though :P Here's the video for 'Ode to a Mountain' :)

That's the end of my long-winded, Johnny Flynn and others post :) I hope you enjoyed it, I'm not posting as much as I should just because of school and blah blah blah but I will try to keep you updated :)

Thanks for reading,

It's a little bit funny

Absolutely beautiful. This is my favourite song at the moment by far! I love the video too, really natural and christmassy. It's also on the John Lewis advert in case you were wondering where you recognised it from :)

MGMT

As I mentioned in my previous post, I went to see MGMT with my best friend on Thursday. I bought her the tickets for her birthday an we'd wanted to see them for ages so we were really excited! We got the train and queued for ages but got a really good place about 3 people back from the front :) I had a cold and felt a bit crap so that spoilt it a bit, but we still had a great time!
The gig was really good, the supporting band were the Dum Dum Girls who were ok, lacked personality but they had a few good songs. Mind you, what do I know? When we went to see Florence and the Machine, the XX were supporting and we thought they were crap but look at them now!But MGMT were so good! Most of their songs aren't that upbeat and dancy so we couldn't really get into it but some of their songs were really energetic and got the crowd going. They played some songs from their latest album 'Congratulations' and their old one 'Oracular Spectacular' but the best were probably Time to Pretend, Brian Eno, Electric Feel and of course Kids.So overall, I'd say it was a really good gig, but not amazing just because the songs weren't fast enough to really get into. They also left Congratulations until the very end (we had to leave 5mins early to catch the train) so we didn't get to see the whole song which was a shame, but never mind! Check out their album on Spotify or whatever, it's not that good at first but the songs are definitely growers!

Thanks for reading, Georgina x

P.S. None of these are my pictures as you probably realised (all from Google Images) Neither of us took a camera which was annoying!

Three Lines on the Shirt, all Drawn with a Ruler

Last weekend I did my Duke of Edinburgh Silver expedition. I won't go on about it for too long but I'll explain the basics :) On Friday we left school at about 2 and stayed overnight (camping of course) On Saturday we walked 20km, camped overnight, walked 18km on Sunday and 12km on Monday. It was very hard- we went to Exmoor which is really hilly and it was so hot! I didn't think I'd enjoy it but I really did. I'll admit that I absolutely hated those hills but you soon forget the pain and remember the fun :) That sounds so corny, I apologise!

This is our group photo on 'the beacon' on top of the moors somewhere. We had a good group, half boys half girls so we didn't have to look at the map and they didnt have to cook (very stereotypical, sorry!)

This is us three girls, I have to say, not looking our best- no make up, unwashed hair and looking pretty sweaty! I guess that's part of it :/ That's Fran, Me and Bekah in case you were wondering :)

This one's a bit random...We had to carry food/tents/sleeping bag etc. and when you take your bag off it makes you feel like your floating...so yes, I'm demonstrating this in the photo :D

The group on a well-earned break :)

One of the many beautiful views, we walked by the coast for a lot of the way and it was so pretty!

So yes I said I wouldn't go on for too long, I hope that was nice and brief :)

Thanks for reading, I really do appreciate followers and your comments mean a lot :) Bit of a soppy ending, sorry guys!

P.S The title of this post has a bit of a story... I stupidly thought that the football song 'Three lions on the shirt' was 'Three lines on the shirt' so I had that sung to me all weekend. I also asked someone what football team their hat was, when it was England, that's how the song was brought up!
