I'm excited but nervous. Half of me can't wait for the laughs and the fun and low drinking age (only 16!) but the other half is thinking of having to speak French, staying in an unfamiliar place and getting up at 6 every morning...
Ffi is really into music, she plays about 10 instruments so whenever I go round to her house I always try and play the ukulele (and completely fail) so she bought me this one and stayed for a while to teach me how to play :D Ahh look at it it's so beautiful, and red to match my room!
As you can imagine I'm not that brilliant but I was surprised how easily I picked it up. I can now play 'I'm Yours' by Jason Mraz, 'Believer' from Shrek and '5 Years Time' by Noah and the Whale, I'm quite proud! I really want to carry on practising so I'm actually good :D
So I just thought I should let you know seeing as I'm majorly excited! I'll update you soon, I'm gong to Belgium on Wednesday so I'll deffo post before then, and lets hope I've learnt some more tunes :)
Yup, it's Ffi again, she really is the best friend anyone could ask for, she has her faults but don't we all? She's pretty much the only person I could trust with anything, everyone needs someone like that.
I pretty much have all my favourite photos stuck on my bedroom wall, the one above is of my three best friends, taken in a photo booth in about year 8. I will admit it's not a specific memory, I wasn't even there! But it's more the memory of that time. We really were the best of friends and had the greatest time, we're still close but nothing compared to then.
Hope you like them :)
I will admit the gingerbread looked a bit rubbish on its own, even though I spent hours making and decorating all the shapes! I decided to wrap them up and try and make them look pretty. Here's how I did it if you want to try: I used boxes for the bottom, I wrapped one of these in tissue and the other in wrapping paper. The inside is just a patterned paper napkin from Ikea. I put the gingerbread inside and put cling-film over the top then tied string round the whole box. Voila :)
Luckily my friends really liked them, I'm yet to receive their presents but I'll update you on what their ideas were :) Let me know what you think, a nice idea or stick to buying presents?

As for me, I watched them from a hill with my best friend Ffi (it's were all the stingy people who don't wanna stand in a crowd go :P) Afterwards we went to Chazzy's house where 8 of us sat around all evening watching 'Clueless' and 'Scary Movie' We had a good time but lost track of time so I didn't get home til 1.30 :/

In the evening I managed to get a plus-one to a party...it was a very select group of people, very much 'the cool kids' of our school so awkwardness was expected. We got there at about 9pm to find about 40 drunk kids, fun times :) It wasn't awkward- I just got drunk and stuck with the people I know :P We got kicked out at 11.30 so went to the park for a bit, I ended up getting home at 2.30 (my parents go to bed and trust me to get myself home) because the guys who walked me back were so slow! It was a good night, I'm glad I went, otherwise I would have been sat at home when I wanted to celebrate :D
Yesterday evening I went to a friend's house with a big group of people to watch movies :D We all snuggled up on the sofas with duvets all night :) Being cool we watched Robin Hood (the cartoon version :P) then Harry Potter, where we sat deciding who was which character (I'm Ginny :P) I ended up getting home at 1.30, ahh I do love the freedom of the holidays. I've had such a nice time recently hanging out with friends just being relaxed that I'm dreading getting up early and trying to find my way in a new school :/ Oh I'll leave it for another post :)
Then there's my other friends. There's a group called 'the clan' which sounds really intimidating but they're all lovely. I know lots of people in the group individually so get invited to some of their things. They're really friendly and have BBQs and gatherings at people's houses. If I invited them round they'd bring a few beers, a DVD and would take their shoes off at the door. (My mum would love them)
So yeah, they sound like 2 extremes but it's not that bad. I get on with both groups just as well so it's nice for me as I get to do both types of things- have friendly gatherings but still enjoy going out and messing around. So back to my free house for the week. I wanted to invite people round but had the trouble of deciding who. In the end I went with the quieter, friendly ones as I don't want my house trashed by drunkards and party crashers. I said they could drink so they brought some beers and cider etc. on condition they took the cans away at the end which they obediently followed!
Back to what I was talking about...yeah we all went to the woods and after a bit of awkwardness ended up drunk, talking to random people and generally having a laugh. I'm going to sound really sad now but I want to be honest....I really like being drunk. I really do, I can talk to whoever I want without giving a crap about what they think, I'm not worrying about who to talk to next or what time it is or what I look like. It's great! I spent most of the night laughing hysterically with people or just talking crap with randomers :L
I will admit I have had some bad experiences with alcohol before, but the goods outweigh the bads :) I wasn't too bad last night, I got quite angry at a lot of people telling them to fuck off etc. not for any reason! That's not like me so no one was offended, they know it's the booze talking :P I also got a bit upset...it's a long story but my hoodie got put on the campfire, I know what you're thinking "Jeez she has bad friends, why would you hang out with people who'd do that" but the person who did it didn't know it was mine and was drunk so I think it was an accident. Plus he send me a message today apologising so I'm not bothered, he's a nice guy :) Everyone else was lovely too, I think cos I was upset for a reason people were sympathetic, whereas normally girls just get drunk and cry so get no sympathy!
So we stumbled home at about 2am with a few guys (that makes me sound slaggy but they all insist on walking girls back and we had a laugh on the way) I ended up sitting on my garden wall, waiting for the others to catch up, with a random guy from a different school. We had quite a good conversation actually! Talked about how we both sleep walk/talk and gave each other advice on how we should have our hair! Haha, drunken conversations are the best :L
This morning I was a bit of a bitch to my friends :/I was hungover, tired after only 4 hours sleep, pissed off cos they wouldn't leave my house and I generally don't do mornings. So they didn't see me at my best!
(this isn't my photo, www.wehearit.com is where I get most pictures from)
They offered us a lift just as taxi pulled up so we had to make a quick decision. It was so manic...I just saw 2 of my friends getting in the taxi (shouting at the three of us not to get in the car) and thought if i went over they'd drive away before i got there and I'd be stranded so I just got in the car. Stupid I know. The one thing your mum teaches you- not to get in stranger's cars...but there we were, three girls with three guys (who'd been drinking) driving around hoping they would actually take us home :/
(It wasn't like the above...but y'know, nice picture)
Sunday- the day of the concert, we got up at about 8 and got a coach to the beach. It was so busy, we queued for an hour and a half which isn't too bad considering some people had been there since 4 in the morning! The actual concert was really good, Dizzee Rascal and Jason Derulo were amazing but Example and Plan B (on the smaller stage) were definitely the best! The only problem with T4 is that it revolves around the TV show so we were constantly being used as 'the crowd' being asked to cheer and shout the artists' names which was a bit tedious.
After the concert we had to wait for a taxi for an hour and twenty mins. We were not happy. It was so cold and we were all starving so we just sat on a street corner taking photos! A good way to spend your time :D
Monday- the morning after T4 and on our campsite there were only 18 of us left out of the previous 1000! It was like a wasteland with rubbish everywhere! We walked around the site and realised that there was so much stuff left behind! I know it's really disgusting but we went round to see what we could find (we had nothing do on Monday and were staying for another night.)
There was so much stuff left behind! We found this paddling pool and filled it with our findings :D Most of it was booze as that was our priority (we'd been away all weekend and hadn't had a drop) We also found a wind break, a radio, footballs, camping chairs, roll mats, crisps (unopened), BBQs, juice, a bucket, shoes, plastic cups, a torch and much more! We ended up making an amazing little camp for ourselves :D
So most of the day was taken up with drinking, sleeping and sunbathing, what a nice life :D In the evening we made some more friends, three of whom sat with us and played their guitar while we all sat round a BBQ (which we found :P) and sung along and got drunk :) Monday was by far the best day!
We got up the next morning, had a nice shower (that we didn't have to queue for!) then left to catch our three trains home. So pretty much an amazing weekend with the only downside being restricted to where we could go...next year we're hoping to drive there :)
Thats' our little family photo :) I don't usually like putting people's pictures on here seeing as no one knows about this blog but ahh well, a few won't hurt, hey?
The one above's pretty funny- we put the camera on self timer so we all sat there smiling when Lydia (middle) shouted "Look they've scored!" so we all turned to the TV looking really shocked and confused and then we realised it was half time and they were replaying the goal! Classic photo, I love our bemused faces!
This one's a bit random...like I said I don't really like putting photos of other people on here so I found one that was just of me. It was supposed to be really cool because one eye would be bigger than the other, I guess it didn't really work!
