Lolz on Our Holz

Hey guys, hope you're all ok and enjoying the sunny weather if you're lucky enough to have any! I've been meaning to post about T4 on the Beach and I have finally got round to it :) It really was one of the best weekends ever :D here goes...

Saturday- it was the day after prom so we were all a bit knackered but we had to get up to meet at the train station at 11.30. We got the train to Birmingham then Bristol then Weston-Super-Mare and managed to have a pretty good journey. We were all so excited on the way! My friend Ffion had bought us all white t-shirts, so we all sat on the train writing our nicknames and 'T4 on the Beach' all over them! The last train was so busy, I got squashed into a corner on my own and loads of people kept asking me why there were so may people...they clearly don't watch channel 4 :P

We camped over night with 1000 other T4ers...that was pretty mental. Most people were drunk and the music went on all night. We didn't have any booze so we were a bit bored! We made some friends though- a group of boys who came and sat in our tent for a bit (it was a tee pee, how exciting!!) It was quite nice to just sit around and chat cos we were all so tired from travelling!

Sunday- the day of the concert, we got up at about 8 and got a coach to the beach. It was so busy, we queued for an hour and a half which isn't too bad considering some people had been there since 4 in the morning! The actual concert was really good, Dizzee Rascal and Jason Derulo were amazing but Example and Plan B (on the smaller stage) were definitely the best! The only problem with T4 is that it revolves around the TV show so we were constantly being used as 'the crowd' being asked to cheer and shout the artists' names which was a bit tedious.

After the concert we had to wait for a taxi for an hour and twenty mins. We were not happy. It was so cold and we were all starving so we just sat on a street corner taking photos! A good way to spend your time :D

Monday- the morning after T4 and on our campsite there were only 18 of us left out of the previous 1000! It was like a wasteland with rubbish everywhere! We walked around the site and realised that there was so much stuff left behind! I know it's really disgusting but we went round to see what we could find (we had nothing do on Monday and were staying for another night.)

There was so much stuff left behind! We found this paddling pool and filled it with our findings :D Most of it was booze as that was our priority (we'd been away all weekend and hadn't had a drop) We also found a wind break, a radio, footballs, camping chairs, roll mats, crisps (unopened), BBQs, juice, a bucket, shoes, plastic cups, a torch and much more! We ended up making an amazing little camp for ourselves :D

So most of the day was taken up with drinking, sleeping and sunbathing, what a nice life :D In the evening we made some more friends, three of whom sat with us and played their guitar while we all sat round a BBQ (which we found :P) and sung along and got drunk :) Monday was by far the best day!

We got up the next morning, had a nice shower (that we didn't have to queue for!) then left to catch our three trains home. So pretty much an amazing weekend with the only downside being restricted to where we could go...next year we're hoping to drive there :)

Thanks for reading :)

Three Lines on the Shirt, all Drawn with a Ruler

Last weekend I did my Duke of Edinburgh Silver expedition. I won't go on about it for too long but I'll explain the basics :) On Friday we left school at about 2 and stayed overnight (camping of course) On Saturday we walked 20km, camped overnight, walked 18km on Sunday and 12km on Monday. It was very hard- we went to Exmoor which is really hilly and it was so hot! I didn't think I'd enjoy it but I really did. I'll admit that I absolutely hated those hills but you soon forget the pain and remember the fun :) That sounds so corny, I apologise!

This is our group photo on 'the beacon' on top of the moors somewhere. We had a good group, half boys half girls so we didn't have to look at the map and they didnt have to cook (very stereotypical, sorry!)

This is us three girls, I have to say, not looking our best- no make up, unwashed hair and looking pretty sweaty! I guess that's part of it :/ That's Fran, Me and Bekah in case you were wondering :)

This one's a bit random...We had to carry food/tents/sleeping bag etc. and when you take your bag off it makes you feel like your floating...so yes, I'm demonstrating this in the photo :D

The group on a well-earned break :)

One of the many beautiful views, we walked by the coast for a lot of the way and it was so pretty!

So yes I said I wouldn't go on for too long, I hope that was nice and brief :)

Thanks for reading, I really do appreciate followers and your comments mean a lot :) Bit of a soppy ending, sorry guys!

P.S The title of this post has a bit of a story... I stupidly thought that the football song 'Three lions on the shirt' was 'Three lines on the shirt' so I had that sung to me all weekend. I also asked someone what football team their hat was, when it was England, that's how the song was brought up!

Football and Photos

Ahh I'm such a busy bee at the moment, even though school's finished and exams are over I still manage to have too much to do! I had my last exam yesterday finally! I felt like the only person who wasn't free yet :(

So anyway it was the England v Slovenia football game as you probably already know :P I went to my friend's house to watch the match- we're not really into football but you know, it's the world cup we've got to make something of it! To be honest we weren't really watching it, it was in the background while we talked and took photos!

Thats' our little family photo :) I don't usually like putting people's pictures on here seeing as no one knows about this blog but ahh well, a few won't hurt, hey?

The one above's pretty funny- we put the camera on self timer so we all sat there smiling when Lydia (middle) shouted "Look they've scored!" so we all turned to the TV looking really shocked and confused and then we realised it was half time and they were replaying the goal! Classic photo, I love our bemused faces!

This one's a bit random...like I said I don't really like putting photos of other people on here so I found one that was just of me. It was supposed to be really cool because one eye would be bigger than the other, I guess it didn't really work!

From there I went on to my other friend's house, with the T4 on the beach girls, to practice setting up the tent and just for a general gathering :) That was really good fun, there are some photos but I'll put those up another time. We stayed over in the tent which is amazing! It's a giant teepee that easily fits the 7 if us who are going, plus all of our stuff...ooh I'm excited now :D

Being the busy person that I am, I woke up in the morning and rushed home for a shower so I could go to someone's birthday meal. It was good but a bit awkward because they're not really my group of friends, so I had to keep making small talk...ahh well it was good to see some more people! I went shopping for a bit then had to go DofE food shopping which just wore me out to be honest!

So that leads me nicely on to my last point- I won't be posting for a bit because I have my silver Duke of Edinburgh expedition over the weekend. I'm actually dreading it, we're wallking for 3 days and camping for 3nights in Exmoor. It better not rain! I'm back on Monday so I'll post some pictures if we get any good'uns :)

I hope you're all ok, thanks for reading!

The Good Times Are Calling

I'll admit this post is a bit delayed but ahh well I thought I'd share my Thursday night with you :) Basically we went camping in the woods with a load of people from my year...

I'll be honest with you, it's not a great story, nothing interesting happened, I suppose it was quite surreal. We got there at about 7.30 and it was so awkward- you know at school when there are different groups that tend not to mix? Well it was a handful of people from each group so no one really knew who to talk to. Eventually, at about 10 o'clock, it got dark and most people had had quite a bit to drink so we all relaxed and started to come out of our shells :)

Apart from the odd drama of people getting too drunk or losing things nothing really happened! It was just a relaxed night, we sat around the campfire talking to a load of people we hadn't seen properly in a while, which was good. I like things like that where groups mix together and you end up speaking to people you never thought you'd be friends with :) Anyway, I went to bed at about 2.30 but didn't get any sleep. Everyone was so loud outside the tent, they were literally talking (and shouting) all night!

I got up at 4.30 (it was light at 4 so everyone was up) to help my friend find her shoes because some idiot had been throwing them round the night before. It was so surreal waking up in a wood with all the trees and the campfire still burning! We couldn't find the missing shoe so I went back to bed til 5.30 and managed to get a few minutes of sleep!

At 5.30 we all got up to pack up the tents and everyone was gone by 6.30. We waited for my friend's mum to bring her some shoes and then as most of us couldn't go home (because it was such a stupid time in the morning) we went and sat outside Tesco's for a bit. It's right next to our school so the teachers started arriving which was quite funny! I walked home at 8 and went straight to bed. I was so tired I didn't wake up until 3.30! My parents thought I'd snuck into bed in the middle of the night!

So yeah, it was a good night, I'm glad I went even if it wasn't the most exciting of evenings! I do love camping. Ok I didn't sleep, I had sticks in my back all night and I felt pretty shit in the morning but all in all we had a good time :D I think people are already planning to do it again...

Thanks for reading :)

Pain au locachat?

I haven't posted for ages and one of my excuses is that I had my Silver Duke of Edinburgh practice expedition at the weekend. On Friday we left school at 4.30 to drive to Derby, we camped overnight then on Saturday walked about 21k to a little village, stayed overnight then walked another 20k on Sunday to Bakewell.
I'm not going to lie I found the walking really hard, it was so hilly and such a long way but as a group we had a great time. I wasn't going to put any group pictures up but you can't really see faces! I'm the one sitting on the floor in black (I recently realised that I never put photos of myself up so you don't really know what I look like!) It was a group of people I don't spend much time with and some people I don't really know so it was good to get to know them better :)
When I look back on the weekend I did enjoy it, but at the time it was pretty horrible! The second day was cold and wet and really tiring but we still had fun! Playing I-spy with things like 'atom' and 'reality' filled some time, as well as singing in the fields- at one point we all started singing 'Barbara-Ann' which was rather amusing! There were loads of random jokes like "Assume the foetal position!" (we all crouch on the floor) Haha when you've walked that far you start to go a bit mental :P

Well I hope you forgive me for not posting in a while, I will try and improve, thanks for reading,
