An Education
Last night I watched 'An Education', a film set in the 60's (based on a true story) about a girl pushed but her parents to go to Oxford, but who gets distracted from her goal by an older man (I have to say I preferred his friend but whatever). I don't watch films very often, especially if they seem serious or not an absolute 'must-see', but 'An Education' was really good. It did have some more lighthearted bits but the general plot was fairly serious.
The ending was a bit disappointing but the film itself was brilliant. I suppose a lot of it shows just a normal girl's day-to-day life (obviously not including meeting a man/ going to Paris etc.) but the relationship she has with her parents and her friends is definitely something a lot of us could relate to. In fact I liked it so much that I watched half of it again this evening...oh dear. Well I recommended it to my parents and they were watching it and I got hooked :P

It also gave me a bit of motivation to work, just the general message of 'You can achieve what you want' has given me a bit of a boost. Revision's hard, especially when you know you have to work and you know you want to, there's just that part of you, the lazy bit, that tells you to do something else. I suppose 'A Education' made me realise that I can go far if I work hard. Yes I know I sound cheesy, but I really am desperate for motivation at the moment!
I hope you're all ok, thanks for reading and watch this film of you get a chance!

Go Fly a Kite
I really can't explain how I feel. I haven't felt this in ages. Just angry and stressed and everything bubbling up inside me. I feel sick and tired and like crying. I want to have an argument with someone. I don't know where this has come from, I can think of a million and one petty reasons. No sleep? Lack of exercise? Stress? Argh. Just this big fat ball of bad emotions has found its way inside me and I don't know how. So many small things that get on my nerves, some bigger things, to me anyway. And of course there's always a 'him' involved, what problem would be a true problem without a 'him'. Of course its the usual sitch where you're just the one just nodding and smiling, putting on a happy voice and giving everyone else advice. Everyone says they should take their own advice, but that's just silly because then there would be no drama and no attention and no winging. What would life be without complaining about it? We're all selfish dicks who only want to talk about themselves, I just wish some people would make it a little less obvious.

Man I Hate Your Baand
Sorry for the lack of posts, I've been lambing all week :) It's so fun, just being on a farm is nice because it's so relaxed and you get to be outside all day. Plus I got to miss school for a week for driving a quad bike and walking round fields! It's not everyone's cup of tea but I love it :) I also get on really well with the farmer and his girlfriend, they're so friendly and laid back. They probably got fed up of me haha, I just talked the whole time and kept doing things wrong :P but it was a good week, I'm just dreading going back to school now :/

White Blank Page
I'm a happy chappy. I've had a good week. Last week was long and slow and boring with no motivation and a lack of smiles. This weeks has been varied, it's gone quickly and lots has come out of it.
Thursday was As level results day. It also happened to be the same day I had a course for work so when everyone found out their results, I was sat in a room listening to some old guy waffle on about common sense. I could have rung the school but I couldn't stand the thought of someone reading my results to me! I went in at the end of the day and had to painfully wait while the teacher searched through every list trying to find my name.
I'll be honest I was expecting the worst, I'm aiming for As but was expecting Ds and Es. In the end I got AAB (As in Physics and Biology and B in Chemistry) which I was pretty chuffed with :) I'll have to resit the B which seems pathetic but I really do need an A to be a vet! As for the A in physics, that's a miracle! I cant wait to see my cocky teacher who told me I would never get an A however hard I worked.
As for the rest of the year group, there's a lot of disappointment. I've never heard so many Us and Es going round the place, it's mental. Thank God for resits!
Hope you're all good you were pleased with any results you've got recently :)

Diamonds in the Dark
Tonight Bee came to my house just to hang around, watch X-factor and eat pizza and ice-cream! We actually had such a good chat. It's seems cheesy and generic but it really makes you realise who your friends are. We get on so well and can just chat for hours either about nothing in particular or about really serious things that we are genuinely worried about. And I know not everyone's perfect, I see flaws in all my friends, and myself of course, but people need to start accepting the bad with the good. Bee has had such a hard time with people before and still gets crap for the tiniest of things. People just fail to realise that life's to short to be a bitch, yeah we all have our moments but in general it doesn't hurt to be nice. My 'other friends' are being twats at the moment. We all joke around and sometimes the 'banter' goes a bit far but normally we know when to stop and recognise when people are upset. However that isn't the case this time. I'm just so glad I have people to turn to otherwise I really dunno what I'd do. It's real friends like Bee that we need and there's no reason to sit and take anyone's crap when all it does is get you down. I'm sure everyone can relate.

Random Animalistic Gathering
I thought I'd share my week with you, in a long, picture heavy post :) But don't let that put you off, these photos took me bloody ages to find and put together! Even if you don't read it all just look at the pretty pictures :) I tried to keep people's faces out of them just because they don't know they're on this blog, that's the reason for the cut-off eyes and backs of people's heads! There are a few faces but they're people I know would be happy to be on here :)
So anyway, this week was 'Rag Week' at my school. I've posted about it before but in case you didn't see- basically we dress up everyday to raise as much money as possible for charity :)
Monday- It was a Cowboys and Indians theme, the majority of people wore jeans and a checked shirt with the odd cowboy hat or headdress! I was boring and went for a shirt and plaited my hair :) Pictures below: top left- arm wrestling competition- basically we watched the boys being overly competitive and earning man-points! Other pictures are of the better costumes :)

Tuesday- Fictional Characters theme and the slave trade (labour trade to be PC). People volunteer to be a slave for the day and groups bid to buy them- one slave was bought for £90 which is pretty good! They then have to obey every command eg. carrying bags, dancing on tables, being painted on etc. Some of the things went way too far like having to lick mayonnaise off each other and other things I won't mention on here :/ There were some good costumes though, I was Daphne from Scooby Doo :)
Pics: Top- Simba & Pikachu, Slave Auction, Bottom- Crowds watching the slaves, Daphne, Minnie Mouse and a wolf!

Tuesday night- it was our first of four sixth form parties :) We had such a good time, we all got wristbands for the bar on entry as they just said 'Are you 18?' so obviously we lied and didn't get IDed haha! The theme was 'P'- I went as a Paratrooper (That's me in my black vest and army headband!) Other costumes were Pink Ladies, Pacman, Pirates, Policemen, Ping Pong Players, Pussycat Dolls etc. The outfits were great!

Wednesday was brilliant but horrible. Everyone was so hungover and in our case still drunk :/ But it was pyjama day so that made it a bit better! It was hilarious seeing a whole school of hungover people walking to school in dressing gowns and trackies! For obvious reasons there weren't many pictures but here are the few I could find...

Thursday- It was Beach Party day which was absolutely ridiculous for the middle of October! The general trend was wearing nice warm woolly clothes with a random flower garland on top, but a few people went all out with grass skirts and Hawaiian shirts...

Friday- The last day and a pretty good theme- Superheroes :) Most people had given up by now and just wore a mask or some pants over their jeans :P It was also the talent show which wasn't great, apart from the teacher's band!
Pics: Top- Superheroes, Batman, Bottom- People off 'That Mitchell and Webb Look' apparently and right- me and the girl who was supposed to be an incredible too- poor effort!
I won't bore you any longer with more ramblings, thanks so much for reading or just looking at the photos!

Somedays
I'm having such an FML day. Science all day- it makes me feel stupid, I just don't get half of the stuff we're supposed to get and teacher's frustration doesn't help. I also have a habit of embarrassing myself. In one lesson a guy asked me a question and I went bright red. Don't get me wrong, I am in no way shape or form remotely attracted to him, he's a creep! But just because people were staring at me I suddenly got really embarrassed and went beetroot. The harder I tried to be normal the more fucking red I went -.- I'm going red now just thinking about it, CRINGE. And now he probably thinks I fancy him eve though he's about 2ft tall.
I went home for 5 mins after school, made a phone call that lasted 10mins longer than it should have, meaning I practically ran to work, realising half way I didn't have my swimming costume (I work in a swimming pool as a helper and have to wear shorts, a t-shirt and a swimming costume is, of course, an essential -.-) I didn't have time to go back so I rushed there and ran through the park to the pool desperate to be on time, of course they didn't appreciate my efforts. I was then told I could go 5mins early as they didn't need me, sounds nice but I felt so rejected, it pissed me off as I had to just get out te pool and leave in front of everyone. After all this I really wanted a lift home as I was so pissed off, but no, my parents don't answer their phones. I was on the verge of tears after such a shit day when I realised I was walking through the muddiest part of the park that was completely flooded. FML. I just burst int tears, shoved my iPod in and walked home.

Rags to Riches
Poor blogging again- it's now become a weekend thing just cos I'm so busy during the week! I am sorry, I do try to keep you updated but it's just finding the time that's tricky.
Well I'll tell you about last night, it was very random... There are quite a lot of new people at our sixth form and we're just starting to get to know them really. Anyway it was one guy's birthday yesterday so he invited a few people round his house even though he doesn't know them that well! It turned out to be 5 girls and one guy from our secondary school then about 12 new guys that none of us knew! It was quite a good night, his parents were so nice- he's just moved from France so they're really keen for him to make new friends in England. They kept bringing out food and beers and making sure we were ok- embarrassing for him but it was so sweet!
Anyway, lots more happened than that but I won't bore you! I was gonna tell you about our school's rag week. They do it every year and basically there's a theme everyday and you pay £1 to dress up. It's in 2 weeks and they've just announced the themes...
Monday- Cowboys and Indians
Tuesday- Fictional Characters
Tuesday night- our sixth form has about 4 parties a year, they're not organised by the school (as the teachers like to remind us!) but they're apparently pretty good :) The theme is 'P' so you could be a punk/panda/priest/prisoner/pirate etc.
Wednesday- Pyjamas (purposefully put the day after the party as every one's tired and hungover!)
Thursday- Beach Party (who thought of this theme for winter!?)
Friday- Superheroes
So yars, it's going to be a pretty funny week seeing everyone dressed up :) If you have any costume suggestions then please tell me, I need ideas!

I Want It All
Right now, I want to be a geek. I really really want to work hard, I don't care if I don't go out at the weekend, I don't want to be behind. A-levels are really hard and all I can think of is that if I don't work and get the right grades, then that's it. It's all over. I really would do anything to be a vet but I know it won't just come to me. You know when you're so passionate about something, but it's so far away and everything uncertain? It's horrible.

Put The Book Back On The Shelf
I apologise for this week's poor blogging, I'm tired and busy and generally stressed. Sixth form really isn't that great, I have loads of work already and that's on top of being a busy person and having a job. I will update you at the weekend but for now, I hope you're all ok and please bear with me while I get this week over and done with :)

Asleep on a Sunbeam
I had my first day of sixth form on Friday (we had one day then the weekend which seems really pointless!) It's pretty much the same as my secondary school but on a different site. So we have the same teachers and most of the same people (apart from the 50 new ones) so there wasn't much to be worried about but I was still nervous.
We don't have any uniform or dress code so outfits are another thing to stress over! I went to H&M on Thursday to get a few things, just so I felt like I had something new! I got a long grey cardigan, a stripey long vest top and this...
This stripey top was £7.99, the sleeves are tighter than they look so it's a bit more shapely! I wore it on my first day with grey skinny jeans and colourful sandals (with a necklace and my bag so it looked more interesting!) Sorry for the first face- very mardy.
I'm actually a bit nervous about going back tomorrow, my timetable's horrible- I'm doing physics, biology, chemistry and French so I have a week full of hard work which I'm not looking forward to! I just hope I enjoy it and stick to my plan to work hard :/
Thanks for reading :)
Georgina x
P.S. I had a haircut a few weeks ago and now have a side fringe- I rarely post pics of myself so you wouldn't have seen it yet :)

Bonne Chance
So this is it...GCSE results day. Good luck to you all although it's twenty to three in the morning when I'm writing this so you probably won't read it until after you've opened that dreaded envelope.
I've had an alright day, mixed in with lots of nerves, stress and conversations about what would be 'disappointing' or 'adequate' or 'my highest expectation'. I'll be completely honest with you now, I don't have too much to worry about, seeing as all GCSEs count for is getting into college/sixth form and I am in the nice posistion to have that pretty much granted. Buuuut...this doesn't stop me being nervous!

I went to young farmers tonight (I basically started going as I want to be a vet and thought it would look good on the old CV, I am starting to enjoy it though!) But anyway, yer it was just a meeting in the pub- I told them about results day to which their reaction was "You've gotta get wasted tonight" After lots of persuasion they bought me a coke- "because we don't want to make it too obvious but don't worry it's got something stronger in" Hahaha gotta love em :) I don't know what they put in it but it tasted pretty good :L
Huh, I'm so worried. I am excited though. This sounds weird but it feels like Christmas...because of the anticipation. The big build up to one small moment, like opening a present that you might be disappointed with and have to wait a whole year for another...opening that envelope could be good or bad, it doesn't have too much impact on your life but still means a lot. I dunno, I just hope I do as well as I want- I worked hard, I could've worked harder but you always can.
Good luck everyone, I hope you all get the results that you were hoping for.
Georgina xx
P.S. The original title of this post was 'bon chance' then I realised that's incorrect- now I'm shit scared about my french result!

A trail for the devil to erase
I had my first exam today...scary! It was RE which we all have to do so it's only half a GCSE but still. I think I did ok but I quoted the Qur'an on a Judaism question :/ Oh well it's over now, I never had to do RE again :D
On my last post I said how many photos there were from the last week of school and they're still coming! I wanted to show you this one below, it made me laugh, it's me and my friend by the exit thing at school :P Haha I have no idea why...

And listen to this song: Piazza, New York catcher- Belle and Sebastian, it's lovely :)
I hope you're all ok and good luck to everyone who has exams!

The End of an Era
As I said in my my last post, Friday was my last day of school- we're now on study leave for GCSEs. Even though we'll be going back for exams and a few revision sessions it was really sad! Our leavers assembly was amazing-our head of year had rung people's parents and got their baby photos and the class photos from primary school- embarrassing but hilarious! And afterwards everyone realised how much fun we actually have at school, I'm gonna miss it, I am going to sixth form but it's on a different site so won't be quite the same.
In the last week everyone had cameras it was crazy- there are about 50 albums on facebook, I'm tagged in 83 pictures so far, pretty impressive! Here are a few, I know I shouldn't put photos of people up without their permission but they're all my friends and they were on fb anyway!
You can probably work out which one I am (above-left, below-right)
On the last day we all wore white shirts so we could get them signed...
On Friday we had a a half day so our whole year went to the park which was cool but weird- we never all hang around together so some of the groups merged but it was a bit awkward. It was good to mix with different people though. So yer...that's it, end of school. I suppose I have to really start working now, I've done quite a bit but some people started revising ages ago which is a bit worrying :/
Thank you so much for following, it means a lot :D

Short but Sweet
Next week is my last week of school, it's so strange, it's gone so quickly. It's sounds so cliché but I do remember year 7, being all innocent and lost amongst the big people. I'm a really sentimental person so whilst everyone's saying "I can't wait to get out of this place" I'm like "Think of all the memories, it's the end of an era." But it's true, there have been so many 'times'- good and bad but brilliant all the same.
It makes me think of my last day of primary scool when my brother said to me "Honestly, just make the most of it." and I sat there with my friends on the last lunchtime and decided to kind of take a freeze frame of that moment...I dunno, like appreciate that last bit of school. So my last goodbye memory of primary school is a brick wall in a dingy, grey playground. That's just what I happened to look at. It sounds sad, not something you'd want to remember, but I like it, it was a really grey day but just that picture I have in my mind brings back so many memories.
Hmmm, I hope that made sense, I confuse myself so I wouldn't be surprised if I confuse you! Thanks for reading anyway!

It sounds sad, not something you'd want to remember, but I like it, it was a really grey day but just that picture I have in my mind brings back so many memories.Hmmm, I hope that made sense, I confuse myself so I wouldn't be surprised if I confuse you! Thanks for reading anyway!
