Simple Things

This year, instead of buying each other presents, me and two friends decided to do a homemade Christmas. I didn't have any ideas at first but in the end I decided to made gingerbread men and a card with loads of photos on :)

Here are a few photos to show you what they turned out like...

I will admit the gingerbread looked a bit rubbish on its own, even though I spent hours making and decorating all the shapes! I decided to wrap them up and try and make them look pretty. Here's how I did it if you want to try: I used boxes for the bottom, I wrapped one of these in tissue and the other in wrapping paper. The inside is just a patterned paper napkin from Ikea. I put the gingerbread inside and put cling-film over the top then tied string round the whole box. Voila :)
Luckily my friends really liked them, I'm yet to receive their presents but I'll update you on what their ideas were :) Let me know what you think, a nice idea or stick to buying presents?

Hope you all had a magical Christmas,

Georgina xx

  2. That looks... like it took a long time to bake. xx No, they look wonderful Georgina. I did the same sort of thing for my friends with personalized messages inside each card. Although I must say --- you wrapped the cookies really well.

  3. That's a great idea. :) I prefer being thoughtful and creative to wealthy any day. Great job on the cookies, they look amazing. Have a Happy New Year.
