I just got back from my Gold DofE practice expedition in the Lake District. We canoed down Ullswater lake for a day, walked up and around a mountain then canoed back. I'll be honest with you I wasn't looking forward to it, I didn't enjoy Silver as it was just walking so my hopes weren't too high. But I guess it was just a whole different experience. Our group got on so well, there were no arguments, everyone joked around with each other, there were no separate groups and we just all got on so well. Plus however cheesy it sounds we worked so well as a team :) The place we went to was beautiful, we didn't really appreciate it until the last night when we stayed on a really quiet campsite on the side of a mountain. We had our own little spot with a view of the mountains and the whole lake. We set up the tents and had a little campfire. There was a full moon and loads of stars, it was just magical. I loved it. And even thought I'd been wearing the same clothes all weekend, hadn't showered in days, hadn't slept well and was freezing cold, I didn't want to go home. I just wanted to stay there in our little bubble of the lake district. In our little group (aka the Reem Team) taking the piss out of each other whilst cooking crappy food and looking out over the lake. Just lovely.
Just a pretty song really.
So I suppose I've learnt to appreciate the little things a bit more. Today I've been more proactive- got loads done but enjoyed it. It won't last but it is nice. I watched TV that I normally love and just found it pointless and crap. I sat outside in the garden but didn't have a problem with just doing nothing. Just little things, I feel happier, I'm more me. I've been crazy all weekend but I've been nice and got on with people and not been a bitch and not argued and not been moody. I've loved it. I just got away and was happy and me. At peace.
Me xx

White Blank Page
I'm a happy chappy. I've had a good week. Last week was long and slow and boring with no motivation and a lack of smiles. This weeks has been varied, it's gone quickly and lots has come out of it.
Thursday was As level results day. It also happened to be the same day I had a course for work so when everyone found out their results, I was sat in a room listening to some old guy waffle on about common sense. I could have rung the school but I couldn't stand the thought of someone reading my results to me! I went in at the end of the day and had to painfully wait while the teacher searched through every list trying to find my name.
I'll be honest I was expecting the worst, I'm aiming for As but was expecting Ds and Es. In the end I got AAB (As in Physics and Biology and B in Chemistry) which I was pretty chuffed with :) I'll have to resit the B which seems pathetic but I really do need an A to be a vet! As for the A in physics, that's a miracle! I cant wait to see my cocky teacher who told me I would never get an A however hard I worked.
As for the rest of the year group, there's a lot of disappointment. I've never heard so many Us and Es going round the place, it's mental. Thank God for resits!
Hope you're all good you were pleased with any results you've got recently :)
Thanks for reading,
Georgina xx

Autumn
Oh autumn, how I love you. I'm sitting here wearing a woolly jumper, a hoodie and a scarf and I'm so cosy, that's just one of the reasons I love this time of year. The cold bright mornings with dew on the grass and sun shining between orange leaves. Snuggling up in the dark evenings with hot chocolate and a blanket. Walking through parks or woods surrounded by colour, your feet crunching on the ground beneath you. Red noses peeking out between hats and scarves, the smell of warm food on a cold day and the ever-closer excitement of Christmas...
I keep getting little reminders of all these things. Like déjà vu in small doses...I'm just a romantic in a good mood listening to Bombay Bicycle Club and feeling happy :) Here's a load of pictures for you, they're big because I forgot to change the size on the uploader, but never mind :)

I hope you are all well and enjoying the cold weather as much as me! Thank you for reading :) Georgina x
P.S. I always go on spotify to find my blog titles and I was so happy to find Bombay Bicycle Club have a song called Autumn...a coincidence that makes my blog title see very unimaginative!
P.P.S. All photos from weheartit.com they make me proud to be ginger as all the girls seem to have red hair!

It's Working
I'm not going to rant in this post. I'm not going to explain why I want to rant and I don't want to talk about my week. For some reason I'm incredibly happy, so happy I actually feel like crying. So happy that I'm not sure if I'm happy or sad...But there's a huge grin on my face so I guess it's not the latter. There's no reason really, I suppose life's good, really good. I am so happy with where I am and I feel like my life is going forwards not stuck in a rut. The bad bits are there but they're small and insignificant compared to the good. I can see the future but I'm also loving now. It's all just going so well :)

Drunken Tales and Inexplicable Bruises
Here's a little update on my life...I haven't posted in a while so I'll make it long one with a few pics added in as not to bore you! Well my parents are away at the moment so it's just me and my brother, it's nice to have a quiet house, but it's a bit of a drag having to cook plus I turn into the mum- telling my brother to wash up while I tidy the kitchen and do the washing :/ Bad I know, I think I've given up now, it's too much effort!
So anyway I took advantage of the fact the rents are away and had a few friends stay round last night. We all went out...when I say 'out' I don't mean anywhere exciting just cos y'know, we're 16, what much can you do? So we went to the woods just out of our town...I'll be honest with you, to get drunk :) Someone made a facebook group and invited half my year (only about 40/50 people went in the end, still quite a few though!) I always find these things really awkward at first, just cos I'm no good in big groups plus it's not really my close friends. (I'm a weird one, I kind of have 2 groups of friends- the good ones who don't drink and have friendly gatherings and BBQs in the daytime and then the not-so-good ones who get drunk, go to parties and generally take more risks. So I'm quite lucky cos I get a mixture of the two!)
Back to what I was talking about...yeah we all went to the woods and after a bit of awkwardness ended up drunk, talking to random people and generally having a laugh. I'm going to sound really sad now but I want to be honest....I really like being drunk. I really do, I can talk to whoever I want without giving a crap about what they think, I'm not worrying about who to talk to next or what time it is or what I look like. It's great! I spent most of the night laughing hysterically with people or just talking crap with randomers :L
I will admit I have had some bad experiences with alcohol before, but the goods outweigh the bads :) I wasn't too bad last night, I got quite angry at a lot of people telling them to fuck off etc. not for any reason! That's not like me so no one was offended, they know it's the booze talking :P I also got a bit upset...it's a long story but my hoodie got put on the campfire, I know what you're thinking "Jeez she has bad friends, why would you hang out with people who'd do that" but the person who did it didn't know it was mine and was drunk so I think it was an accident. Plus he send me a message today apologising so I'm not bothered, he's a nice guy :) Everyone else was lovely too, I think cos I was upset for a reason people were sympathetic, whereas normally girls just get drunk and cry so get no sympathy!
So we stumbled home at about 2am with a few guys (that makes me sound slaggy but they all insist on walking girls back and we had a laugh on the way) I ended up sitting on my garden wall, waiting for the others to catch up, with a random guy from a different school. We had quite a good conversation actually! Talked about how we both sleep walk/talk and gave each other advice on how we should have our hair! Haha, drunken conversations are the best :L
This morning I was a bit of a bitch to my friends :/I was hungover, tired after only 4 hours sleep, pissed off cos they wouldn't leave my house and I generally don't do mornings. So they didn't see me at my best!
Thanks for reading this story/rant/confession/rushed post(only cos I want some sleep!)

P.S Had my braces tightened today and some extra brackets put on=PAIN. It hurts almost as much as when I first got them. I took 5 paracetamols within a few hours and they had no effect -.- Rant over and out.

About Your Dress
Hey guys, pinch punch first day of the month! I can't believe it's August already! We've already been through half the year, isn't that crazy? And now the summer is here...well it's supposed to be, I dunno about you but we haven't had any sun for ages!
Anyway more to the point, I've been shopping...I seem to have a constant clothes shortage which my mum has finally started to appreciate, so even though I'm supposed to buy all my clothes myself, she was feeling generous and bought me some new things :)
Some of these things are for holiday- me and my mum are going to Venice where apparently if you're not 'appropriatly dressed' they wont let you into some places- like churches. So this means no shorts and covered shoulders for me! This stripey top is from H&M- I actually love it there!
These sandals are from accessorize- another great shop. They're for holiday too but more for evenings, I don't think I could walk around in them all day! They were half price but still expensive, I think my mum saw it as a good investment because we're the same shoe size, I'm sure she'll try and steal them!
This jumper's not very summery but was a good find so we got it! I'm going to sixth form in September and we don't have any uniform or dress-code so I'm going to need lots of outfits, so this was bought (from H&M) with that in mind.
These are from H&M again, I needed some comfortable shoes for walking around Venice all day. I'm not too sure about these, they're nice but don't go with everything. I don't think they'll go with a skirt and I tried them with some white cropped trousers but it looked a bit matchy. Oh well, I suppose it doesn't matter if I'm on holiday!
And last but not least, Primark sunglasses! I had another pair of these £1 beauties in blue but they mysteriously disappeared, but they were quickly replaced with these which I'm sure if you don't own a pair you will know someone who does- that's the problem with Primark!
Hopefully this lot will keep me happy for a while, I love wearing clothes for the first time when they're new, I don't know why I suppose you just feel different because you're not wearing the same old things that you dig out of your wardrobe every day! And now I'm excited about Venice! Have any of you been there before?
Thanks for reading :)

P.S. The title is a song by the Maccabees- one of the most amazing bands ever!

Simple
I've had a busy week, a stressful week, a week of ups and downs and highs and lows. I was supposed to finish my art this evening, and now I'm supposed to be doing science, but I haven't and I'm not. I was only going to have a bit of my giant lollipop but I ate half of it and now my tongue is purple and my fingers sticky. My room was going to be tidy and it was going to be an early night but now it's 12.01 and I know it's the weekend and I know it's not friday any more but I am happy and life is good so I am going to be grateful for that. I just thought I would share that with you. Simple, that's how I feel today :)
I hope your Friday has treated you as well as mine has and that you have a good weekend, thanks for reading guys :)

A brain on overload and a misunderstood smile
I am so split. In two minds. Almost like two channels of my brain. On channel one I'm happy. I have the biggest smile, a big cheesy grin, for no reason, just because life is good and I have music and friends and sun. I feel like dancing around, singing in the shower, having one-way conversations with my cat. That's my favourite channel. The one I am trying to stay on.

Channel two. Negative. I am so stressed out. I have much to think about, if I do I just burst into tears. I can't even stop and leave it a few days. Even when I cry I have to work or get something ready, just because I know I don't have any time to waste. I just sit there with tears streaming down my face, finishing off my maths homework or revising science. I'm tired and moody. I have two language speaking exams next week and I have learnt nothing. I have two art exams to prepare for and no inspiration. Every evening I am doing something after school. I just need to STOP. Switch off. Relax. My brain is dead, I'm on autopilot. I hate it.

Today I even ignored someone. I never do that. I wasn't event thinking about anything. I was just asleep, trying to get a break from this stupid thing. I can't explain it. Nervous breakdown time.

Time you enjoy wasting is not wasted time
Ahh I do love the holidays...although these ones are proving pretty stressful, I made myself a lovely revision timetable which I have not followed at all, so I have a huge back log of work to do. I'm trying to do everything I said I would but it's left me with about 9hours of stuff to do tomorrow...like that's gonna happen!
I was supposed to get up today but slept in til 2, damn! I then went to my friend's house for her art photoshoot so did no work...again. It just makes me feel guilty :(
So what have I been doing with all my time? I don't have a clue! Facebook does take over a bit and I've done a bit of art and lots of sleeping I suppose. I love this picture below (weheartit.com) and I kinda copied it to put in my art diary...mine is nowhere near as cool but ahh well :)

So yer, I'm off to go and waste some more time :D Hope you're all good, thanks for reading.

Momma, I wanna be a farmer
I am actually having the time of my life lambing on the farm! It's so relaxed and everyone's so friendly that I feel really at home there. This morning I delivered my first lambs :D When I got there the sheep had already given birth to one lamb but was due another two, so they let me pull them out- I know a lot of people will find this disgusting but I thought it was so cool bringing a little life into the world!
As I said before, the farmer is so laid back that I can pretty much try anything there is to do. I learnt how to drive the quadbike on monday and now I'm allowed to go into the fields on my own to load up the sheep and bring them in for lambing, I also had a go at driving a JCB forklift truck which was scary! Today I tube-fed some lambs, docked their tails and got to give a sheep an injection- all things I thought I would never be allowed to do because of 'health and safety'.
It's turning out to be such a good week and an amazing experience- I've learnt so much about the sheep and I love being at the farm- I am not looking forward to school next week though.
I hope you're all good, Georgina xx

Life's Good
Hello there, I am writing this with a little grin because I'm a happy bunny :) I feel like this weekend has lasted about a week already and we still have sunday :D (www.weheartit.com)
After school on friday my dad picked me up and we drove down to Wimbledon to see my auntie, uncle and 3 cousins, my brother was already there (he came from uni). So we got there around 6.30 to find a houseful of kids (all amazingly snobby- my cousins go to some bloody posh private schools.)
The Hoorah-Henry-Oh-Yar mothers came to pick up their rugrats and we were left in peace to have a nice meal. I stayed up to talk to my brother and didn't get to bed until 2pm :/ I was woken up at 7.30 the next day to do a run on Wimbledon common which takes place every Saturday so we thought we'd give it a go.
After running 5k, playing on the wii and teaching my cousin how to email (she sent me a few, all written in yellow and using every single smiley!) me and my dad went to Twickenham. He lived there when he was younger so was showing me his school and house etc. We met up with his cheese-shop-owning friend who was nice, a bit eccentric but that's ok :) Him and my dad are going to have a birthday party together so there was some planning to be done.
We came home and saw my mum (she didn't come with us) and I haven't done anything since, just the way it should be!
Thanks for reading, hope you're having a nice weekend too :)
