Asleep on a Sunbeam

I had my first day of sixth form on Friday (we had one day then the weekend which seems really pointless!) It's pretty much the same as my secondary school but on a different site. So we have the same teachers and most of the same people (apart from the 50 new ones) so there wasn't much to be worried about but I was still nervous.

We don't have any uniform or dress code so outfits are another thing to stress over! I went to H&M on Thursday to get a few things, just so I felt like I had something new! I got a long grey cardigan, a stripey long vest top and this...
This stripey top was £7.99, the sleeves are tighter than they look so it's a bit more shapely! I wore it on my first day with grey skinny jeans and colourful sandals (with a necklace and my bag so it looked more interesting!) Sorry for the first face- very mardy.

I'm actually a bit nervous about going back tomorrow, my timetable's horrible- I'm doing physics, biology, chemistry and French so I have a week full of hard work which I'm not looking forward to! I just hope I enjoy it and stick to my plan to work hard :/

P.S. I had a haircut a few weeks ago and now have a side fringe- I rarely post pics of myself so you wouldn't have seen it yet :)

Handbags and Gladrags

I promised to show you some of the new clothes I bought and here they are :) They are really dark plain colours, mainly grey, making it look like I wear really drab clothes. I don't usually, this it just what I happened to buy! I felt really wintry when I bought them so they're quite woolly and warm! I was also thinking of the sixth form term to come, it is the winter term after all!

(Plain grey jumper with elbow pads- £20 from H&M, they didn't have size medium so I bought a large, so it's baggy but really comfy!)

(Superdry hoodie- actually bought in the airport so was reduced to £35. I always have a superdry hoodie that I live in, one was worn so much it got holes in so this is its replacement!)

(Blue skinny jeans from H&M, they look very boring in this photo, I suppose they are just plain blue jeans! And only £20 which was nice!)

(Another boring hoodie from H&M- £15. After the 'hoodie in the fire' incident which my mother doesn't know about (see 'drunken tales and inexplicable bruises') I needed a new wear-always-and-trash hoodie. It's a size 14 as I wanted it to be baggy and comfy)

So that is the end of my new clothes, I got a few more things that I haven't taken pictures of yet so they might appear on this post in a few days! Oh and I hope you like the photos, I tried to be all arty and make them look more interesting with a close-up view as well :)

About Your Dress

Hey guys, pinch punch first day of the month! I can't believe it's August already! We've already been through half the year, isn't that crazy? And now the summer is here...well it's supposed to be, I dunno about you but we haven't had any sun for ages!

Anyway more to the point, I've been shopping...I seem to have a constant clothes shortage which my mum has finally started to appreciate, so even though I'm supposed to buy all my clothes myself, she was feeling generous and bought me some new things :)

Some of these things are for holiday- me and my mum are going to Venice where apparently if you're not 'appropriatly dressed' they wont let you into some places- like churches. So this means no shorts and covered shoulders for me! This stripey top is from H&M- I actually love it there!

These sandals are from accessorize- another great shop. They're for holiday too but more for evenings, I don't think I could walk around in them all day! They were half price but still expensive, I think my mum saw it as a good investment because we're the same shoe size, I'm sure she'll try and steal them!
This jumper's not very summery but was a good find so we got it! I'm going to sixth form in September and we don't have any uniform or dress-code so I'm going to need lots of outfits, so this was bought (from H&M) with that in mind.

These are from H&M again, I needed some comfortable shoes for walking around Venice all day. I'm not too sure about these, they're nice but don't go with everything. I don't think they'll go with a skirt and I tried them with some white cropped trousers but it looked a bit matchy. Oh well, I suppose it doesn't matter if I'm on holiday!
And last but not least, Primark sunglasses! I had another pair of these £1 beauties in blue but they mysteriously disappeared, but they were quickly replaced with these which I'm sure if you don't own a pair you will know someone who does- that's the problem with Primark!

Hopefully this lot will keep me happy for a while, I love wearing clothes for the first time when they're new, I don't know why I suppose you just feel different because you're not wearing the same old things that you dig out of your wardrobe every day! And now I'm excited about Venice! Have any of you been there before?

Thanks for reading :)

String Bean Jean

Today I had a clothes clear-out. Now, I dunno if this is just me but when I'm deciding whether or not to keep something I always try it on and see if it fits/I'd wear it round the house etc. Anyway some of the things I tried on actually had me in hysterics, I looked like such a prat in old crap that's too small for me :L

I couldn't resist but take some photos (I've never done an outfit post before but I've just found out to do self timer on my camera so they might start appearing more often) You might not find these remotely funny or interesting but it made me laugh...

A 2006 cross country hoodie that I've worn twice :/ Hang on I take the word 'hoodie' back...it's a jumper and looks like something straight out of a 90's TV show :P

Another running hoodie that's seen better days! And by the way I apologise for looking scratty, I'd put my make up on in about 5mins and left my hair to its own devices...

This was the funniest...I had to wear overalls when I did lambing in March, I just thought I'd try them on for the gags :L I got them from a builders' shop where they took one look at me and said they wouldn't have anything my size, the reason for the bagginess!

This one isn't funny, well I hope not anyway...I've only worn this top once so I was trying to see if I could make it look normal cos it's all frilly and not very me. Just thought I'd show you me looking slightly more normal (but a bit moody) so you don't think I just have a really weird sense of style!

So that was today's interesting event. We had my auntie, uncle and cousins round for the whole weekend so that was my excuse for not posting. It was good to see them, the kids are lovely and we always have a good time playing tig and hide and seek :)

I hope you all had a good weekend, thanks for reading :)

Hate people who think their life is a drama

Yer this title is a bit hypocritical...I do hate people who think their lives are dramatic, I don't believe I am one of those people, but I do think we all have things to complain about however lucky we are and I choose to vent through the medium of blogging :) Here goes...

Agitation. That seems to be all I feel at the moment. Everything just pisses me off and thinking about doesn't help much either. Huh. I keep meaning to update this blog and I should be a bit more positive but right now is the time for ranting and moaning, sorry guys.

Ok the first one- exams. Yer we all have them, well most of us, so you feel the pain. It seems to just take over...every happy thought is drowned in the dreaded 'r' word.
(I've just realised the girl in the photo is drawing but let's pretend it's maths :P)

Clothes...Ok I know these complaints are so petty..I'm a bad person for getting stressed over clothes but they seem to be all I think about. Because summer's starting and my wardrobe consists of a few pairs of jeans, a variety of hoodies and plain t-shirts, I'm getting desperate. I just dream of floral dresses, sunglasses and denim shorts...

My hair. It's never been right, but now it's just boring I suppose. I try to do stuff with it but it doesn't wish to cooperate. I used to have it really short when I was little so now I'm obsessed with growing it and even though it's not far past my shoulders I don't wanna have it cut...however out of control it is.

This is the real agitator (if that's a word) Noise. Petty but boy does it get to you. Being at home all day doesn't help and the fact that my dad decided to hire a friggin cherry picker to do 'work on the house' halfway through my GCSEs...so drills and hammers it is for me.

Sleep. The old body clock's pretty fucked up again. I go to bed at 2-3 in the morning and get the rents coming in my room at 9am telling me not to waste the day and that I have work to do. Cheers.
(I love the sofa in the picture below <3)

Braces- small but friggin mighty. I hate the bloody things, they cause me nothing but pain and I've just been told my 2 baby teeth, which should be long-gone, have to be pulled out -.-
Family, who needs 'em? Yes they are being nice...but overly nice as if to compensate...I dunno what for, I suppose they saw me drifting a bit. But I want to drift I don't want to be wrapped in cotton wool. I just don't get them and they don't get me.

Again, I am a horrible person for complaining about this, please forgive me. Food, I dunno, I'm just gaining a lot of weight at the moment. I've always been really skinny and want to stay that way but boredom transfers to hunger and I pile of the pounds. It does get me down.
Thanks for reading, I hope you're all well and I don't bring you down with my meaningless non-problems... Have a good week, let's hope for some sun :)
